LimeSurvey for all RUMC users

Any RadboudUMC employee can get access to Limesurvey by following one of the links to the right.

Some departments host their own Limesurvey environment. Generally, you should join the environment of your department, if it has one. Administrators of your department need to add you to their environment before you can enter.

Please be aware Limesurvey is not an archive; download your results when you are done with your survey. Abandoned surveys are subject to cleanups, both their structure as well as the results. Departments with their own Limesurvey instance have their own policies; please contact your administrator for more information.

LimeSurvey versus CastorEDC

CastorEDC: CastorEDC is primarily a system to collect research data from other sources into an electronic Case Report Form (eCRF). In addition, CastorEDC has the option to send electronic questionnaires. CastorEDC is validated for use with WMO-compliant reserach which needs to adhere to the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.

LimeSurvey: Limesurvey is an online tool for creating and sending electronic questionnaires. The tool is meant to be used for research that consists exclusively of online questionnaires. Limesurvey does not offer the ability to add data to a eCRF and is not GCP-validated.

When to use which

Which tool you should use depends on the type of research, the data you are collectin and the number of participating sites.

Use CastorEDC if at least one of these conditions is met:

• The research is subject to WMO;
• You collected other research data except questionnaires in an eCRF;
• The research is multicenter where each center is only allowed access to data of their own participants.

Use Limesurvey only if all conditions below are met:

• The research is not subject to WMO;
• The research consists only of questionnaires / surveys, without additional data being collected in an eCRF;
• It is not a multicenter research where each center is only allowed access to data of their own participants.
